LiuGong Machinery Plans Growth

LiuGong Machinery Corporation is China's premier heavy equipment manufacturing company, and is the highest volume wheel loader producer in the world and within the top 25 largest construction machinery companies in the world.

LiuGong is a growth company with more than 1.6 billion USD sales in 2008 and an aggressive global expansion strategy to penetrate markets with high quality equipment supported by local service and parts.

“LiuGong is a company absolutely committed to customer service, satisfaction and ongoing support after the sale”

LiuGong equipment is easy to own and easy to operate, as the company excels in providing features that customers demand, but also focuses on using only well-proven technologies that are easy to service. The result is highly durable machines that stand up to the rigors of tough operating environments customers face. LiuGong also fully supports its customers with a worldwide dealer network with locations in almost every country and four subsidiary companies strategically located to provide expert support close to important markets. LiuGong stands behind its dealers with eight parts depots currently in operation around the world staffed with service experts, and is continuously expanding and improving its service support.

LiuGong has provided top quality construction machinery for 50 years. In 2008 LiuGong received a China National Quality Award. In China, the National Quality Award is presented to a few select companies after rigorous review. Since 2001, only 62 companies from any industry in China have received this award. LiuGong is the only company in the machine industry ever to receive this recognition. LiuGong processes and parts are ISO 9000 compliant, and the company is adopting Six Sigma quality methodology.

“LiuGong is a company absolutely committed to customer service, satisfaction and ongoing support after the sale,” said Dave Beatenbough, LiuGong Vice President. “We are in every market for the long-term, and plan continued growth, expansion and investment on every continent.”

Beatenbough added that as part of the efforts to understand customer requirements, LiuGong engineers regularly visit customers and jobsites around the world. LiuGong executives, including the company president, also visit and make frequent contacts in all parts of the globe.

LiuGong expansion plans include the 2009 opening of its first overseas manufacturing plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Once fully operational this year, the plant will have the capacity to assemble 2,000 wheel loaders annually. Also in 2008, the company began the construction of a manufacturing plant in North China to build wheel loaders and a new line of bulldozers. The North China factory began production in November of 2008.

Growth in the Latin America market continues with the 2009 opening of LiuGong Latin American headquarters, a subsidiary company and a planned parts depot that will make 57,000 parts available upon request throughout the region. Throughout the world LiuGong is expanding its dealership network as well, with new dealers joining the LiuGong team and existing dealers increasing their investment and focus on the LiuGong family of products. In Latin America especially there has been network growth with more dealers recently appointed in Mexico and Brazil. LiuGong will also have a major presence at global tradeshows during 2009 including INTERMAT in Paris, CTT in Russia, and M&T in Brazil.

LiuGong was founded in 1958 in Liuzhou, China and built the country's first modern wheel loader in 1966. Currently LiuGong manufactures the largest wheel loader built in the country. LiuGong became China's fist publicly traded company in the machinery industry when it entered the Shenzhen stock exchange in 1993 and in 1995, partnered in a joint venture with ZF Friedrichshafen AG to better equip its products by manufacturing transmissions and axles on site at its own factories. Further acquisitions, expansions and customer demand led to the opening of LiuGong offices in India and North America in 2007. The company began selling through dealers in Latin America in 2007. Over the past 50 years, LiuGong has grown to be a well respected international company, manufacturing and selling more than 36,000 machines annually.
